6 Ways To Create A Backyard That Fits Perfectly With Your Netflix And Chill Lifestyle

Posted on

Most staycations are done to have a frugal vacation at home, while still enjoying the paid days of work. Some people, however, just really and truly like to stay home. And, that's ok.

If you are one of the whooping 53 percent of Americans that have staycationed, then this list for you. You can cultivate the perfect backyard for your Netflix and chill lifestyle. Sure, some things are a bit pricey, but think of all that money you are saving on vacations.

1. Pool: Whether you want to swim laps like Michael Phelps or cannonball like a boss, you need a pool to create a staycation-worthy backyard.

2. Hot Tub: There is no better way to relax than to lean back in your very own hot tub without the typical crowds from a hotel or waterpark. Silence and bubbles. It couldn't get any better.

3. Putting Green: Even if your idea of working on your swing means trying to figure out a way to get past the windmill hole at your local putt-putt, adding a putting green to your backyard is still a fabulous plan and a valuable addition to any backyard space.

4. Built-In Trampoline: While backyard trampolines are notoriously dangerous and could fill an entire hour-long episode of "America's Funniest Videos" all one their own, you should still put one in your backyard—with a twist. Install it at ground level. Even the Mayo Clinic concedes that this little trick can help prevent injuries. Plus, it is so much fun.

5. Outdoor Kitchen: After spending all day relaxing in your backyard, you have probably worked up an appetite. You could order a pizza, if you are too exhausted from all the fun you are having, or you could make one. A backyard kitchen is a must in most backyards, but a backyard kitchen with a built-in pizza oven is just plain awesome.

6. Misting System: Once your belly is full, you are just going to want to relax in a lawn chair or hammock. It can be hard to relax on those hot and steamy summer days, though. Installing a misting system is a fairly inexpensive way to cool down a patio by a few degrees. Just like in the produce department at your local grocery store, tiny misters blast our water every few seconds to cool the surrounding air temperatures.

Whether you prefer to staycation or just don't like people, creating the ultimate backyard is a fun and easy way to relax.
